For Families

The Connection Program: Families

If you have a family member or a friend who is seeing or hearing things that others don’t, or if they’re having strange thoughts or if they believe things that aren’t really true, the Connection Program may be  right for them.

The Program provides treatment as part of a research study for adolescents and young adults who are having these symptoms. Along with providing top-quality treatment, the Program’s health professionals respect and care about you and your loved one’s concerns. We are here to listen and to help your family member or friend feel better and get well.

What happens when someone participates in the Connection Program?

Treatment centers are located in Baltimore, Maryland and New York City (Manhattan). Participants get help and support services from health professionals for up to two years. Our practitioners will talk to your loved one about their personal goals and help them to recover so they can live a happy, fulfilling life.

To be eligible, participants must:

  • Be between the ages of 15 (16 in New York) and 35
  • Have started experiencing unusual thoughts and behaviors, or hearing or seeing things that others don’t over the last two years
